The flame retardant mechanism of aluminum hypophosphite is to decompose into phosphoric acid by heat and absorb the heat of the polymer, so as to play the cohesive phase flame retardant effect, and it can be used with MCA, MHB, MPP, aluminum hydroxide, and Liankou to play the synergistic flame retardant effect. Aluminum hypophosphite flame retardant has the features of high decomposition temperature, non-halogen, low smoke, good dispersion, non-hydrolysis, not easy to precipitate, excellent processing performance, etc. It can be used in the flame retardant of PP, PE, TPE, TPU, TPR, TPV, PE/EVA, EP, wires and cables, elastomers, soft rubber, water-soluble and oil-soluble coatings, rubbers, thermosetting resins and adhesives, etc. It can be used in the flame retardant of PP, TPV, TPV, TPR, TPR, TPE, TPV, TPE, TPU and TPE. Aluminum hypophosphite flame retardant can partially replace aluminum diethyl hypophosphite in some fields, with good cohesive phase and carbon-forming flame retardant effect.

Flame retardant mechanism

The flame retardant mechanism of aluminum hypophosphite can be basically understood from two aspects: controlling free radicals and dehydrating into carbon. The gas product formed during combustion contains free radicals PO-, which can capture the active intermediates HO- and H- generated during combustion, inhibit the chain reaction of free radicals so that the combustion speed is reduced until the flame is extinguished, reduce the intensity of the combustion reaction, and play a flame retardant role in the gas phase. At the same time, the degradation of Aluminum Hypophosphite Flame Retardant can also produce a large amount of Aluminum Phosphate and Aluminum Pyrophosphate, which can promote the dehydration of the material into charcoal, form a dense charcoal layer to block the transfer of materials and energy, inhibit further degradation of the internal material and combustion, thus improving the flame retardant properties of the material.

Product characteristics

1, it can be compounded with many kinds of non-halogen and low-halogen flame retardant, with various formulas, it can meet the flame retardant requirements of most polymers.

2, Aluminum hypophosphite particle size is small, narrow distribution range, good dispersion in the material.

3, high phosphorus content, is an extremely effective source of acid, dehydration of polymers, into carbon is of great significance.

4, low water solubility of aluminum hypophosphite, flame retardant products do not precipitate, no moisture.

Aluminum hypophosphite particle size, whiteness, decomposition temperature, production and preparation process, raw materials, crystal type and other differences in its application in PP, TPU, TPE, PBT and other applications, formulations and other corresponding changes. The finished product indexes of different manufacturers differ greatly, such as the replacement of aluminum hypophosphite, the corresponding formula also needs to be changed to a small batch test and then change. The executive standard is HG/T 4833-2015.Aluminum hypophosphite flame retardant is widely used in polyolefins, elastomers, resins, coatings, adhesives and so on. It can be compounded with MCA, MPP, ADP, MHB, magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide and other flame retardants to play a synergistic effect.
