Potassium peroxymonosulfate is an environmentally friendly and efficient water quality treatment improver with high active oxygen content, no side effects, easy to use, inexpensive and good bactericidal effect. Potassium peroxymonosulfate can be used as drinking water disinfectant, environmental disinfectant, able to prevent and control aquatic bacterial diseases. It is also used as water quality improver and aquaculture substrate improver in aquaculture industry. White powder, easily soluble in water, at 20 ℃, water solubility is more than 250g/L. Potassium bisulfate aqueous solution is acidic, poor stability in water, can not be stored for a long time. Usually it is more stable in solid state, dry powder is easy to decompose and react when the temperature is higher than 65℃, releasing oxygen and sulfide, but decompose in water releasing oxygen and potassium sulfate, not producing harmful substances. Strong oxidizing ability, its oxidizing potential energy is high, exceeding that of chloride, potassium permanganate, hydrogen peroxide, etc. It can oxidize chlorine ions in aqueous solution into chlorine gas, and it can oxidize organic substances such as alcohols and aldehydes into organic acids.

Potassium peroxymonosulfate reacts with water, and when dissolved in water, it releases reactive oxygen species through chain reaction, and then forms hydroxyl radicals, hydrogen peroxide radicals, hypochlorous acid and other active ingredients. The hypochlorous acid and new ecological oxygen produced play the role of killing and inhibiting bacteria and diseases, can oxidize and chlorinate biological pathogens, inactivate pathogens, affect their metabolism, and cause the death of pathogens by cleavage. The organic acid and acidic environment produced by Potassium peroxymonosulfate have the effect of synergistic killing of pathogens, and the reaction process does not produce harmful substances, and the generated oxygen can also play a role in increasing dissolved oxygen.


Functional use

1, in the treatment of aquaculture wastewater, the use of persulfate treatment after 24 hours, can increase dissolved oxygen, reduce the oxygen debt of the water body and nitrite.

Potassium peroxymonosulfate is effective in killing common E. coli, Riemeria duckii, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella, and Newcastle disease virus of chickens. African swine fever is a new infectious disease in China in recent years, and Potassium peroxymonosulfate is also said to be effective in killing African swine fever.
